Welcome to the Media Center at Elizabeth City Middle School! We are located on the second floor at the top of the stairs. All members of the ECMS family are encouraged to come explore the world of media. At ECMS we are blending traditional print resources with today’s electronic world!

“Wired Wednesday” is an after school time scheduled Wednesdays from 3:30 – 4:00 that students, staff and faculty are invited to the Media center to participate in the following:

•Internet Café – the tech zone and computers inside the Media Center will be available for students to work on school projects, check email, play educational games, etc..

•Listening stations – students can check out a CD player and headphones and listen to CD’s and/or audiobooks

•Reading time – students can read books, magazines, and newspapers of their choice

•Game time – classic board games like chess, checkers and backgammon along with newer games like Pictionary are available Refreshments may be served!

(The thought here is to have a mini Barnes and Noble/ Coffee house atmosphere to help reward positive, responsible behavior. Students must have a permission slip on file to attend, and any inappropriate actions during Wired Wednesday time will result in loss of the opportunity!)

**Permission slips are available outside of the Media Center. Students MUST have the permission slip for admittance!!
