ECPPS: Coronavirus Information

ECPPS received notification that a staff member was exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19. After receiving this notification, ECPPS was in communication with Albemarle Regional Health Services, who advised us of the questions to ask to determine the level of exposure. Based upon the information received, it was determined that a quarantine was not necessary in this situation. ECPPS is taking every precautionary measure to ensure safety of all staff. Staff assigned to this facility will not report until we have completed all sanitization procedures. We also want to assure our community that this employee was not involved in our meal services program and that this program was not impacted by this report.

ECPPS has taken COVID-19 seriously and administration has worked diligently to ensure safety for those who continue to work in positions deemed essential, as well as for the families we serve. Our facilities are closed, and for those who have to report from time to time, we continue to promote social distancing. We implemented new schedules beginning next week to limit our staff to possible exposure to COVID-19 as we continue to serve meals and provide technology support for remote learning. These safety precautions were taken prior to being notified of this incident.

We are committed to following the Executive Order of Governor Cooper to "stay at home" and we encourage our staff, families and community to do the same. We thank our families and community for supporting our efforts to continue instruction through remote learning, provide food and school supplies for our students, and to encourage positivity in such an unprecedented time.
