ECPPS Wins State Awards for School Communications

ECPPS Wins State Awards for School Communications

ECPPS was among 38 school districts in North Carolina to win Blue Ribbon Awards for effective school communications and public relations. The awards were presented by the North Carolina School Public Relations Association (NCSPRA) during the Association's annual Blue Ribbon Awards ceremony and brunch on Friday, January 26 at the O. Henry Hotel in Greensboro.

ECPPS won awards in the following categories:

Special Events & Programs – ECP Backpacks (GOLD AWARD)

ECPPS has worked collaboratively with others in the community to initiate a program that provides weekend food for children who may be experiencing food insecurity. ECP Backpacks began this school year with a goal of serving 200 children a weekend; however, approximately 271 have been served each weekend since it started.

Special Events & Programs – 2017-2018 ECPPS Parent Academy (SILVER AWARD)

ECPPS offers a Parent Academy each fall to provide parents and the community the opportunity to gain a better understanding of various programs, instruction and curriculum, and opportunities offered through our district. Attendees are able to choose sessions that are of particular interest to them. The 2017-2018 Parent Academy was held on September 23, 2017 with over 30 in attendance.

A Blue Ribbon Award is the highest honor a school district can receive from the North Carolina School Public Relations Association. The award recognizes excellence in school communications and public relations in eight categories: digital media engagement, electronic media, excellence in writing, image/graphic design, marketing, photography, publications (print and electronic), and special events and programs.
