Northeastern High School is located in Elizabeth City, a beautiful community in northeastern North Carolina along the Pasquotank River in Pasquotank County. Elizabeth City is known as the "Harbor of Hospitality." Pasquotank County has approximately 40,000 residents with nearly half living within the city of Elizabeth City. NHS has an enrollment of more than 673 students in grades 9-12.

NHS students excel in academics, sports , extra curricular activities and community involvement. Students and staff in the NHS Agricultural Complex and FFA program maintain seven greenhouses which is the largest greenhouse area in a K-12 institution in the state of North Carolina.
