Career & Technical Education

The Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs will follow the same guidance as Curriculum and Instruction.

CTE has purchased additional program specific digital resources to support the remote learning environment. Additional supplies will be purchased to decrease cross contact between students within the face to face environment.

All Agriculture teachers will have an approved plan for the ECPPS-Harris Demonstration Farm to ensure the safety of students and staff while supporting farm and grant projects. All other program specific labs will have an approved plan as well. Each plan will have safety measures focused on social distancing, masks, hand hygiene, gloves for specific lab areas and sanitation procedures for equipment. Large equipment that must be shared will have protective barriers or sanitized between students. In addition, parents will be given an option to sign a Career & Technical Education farm or lab permission slip and students will have an entrance/exit schedule for lab time.

For some program areas, student will be able to obtain work-based learning opportunities, credentials and certifications through remote simulations or scheduled time in the CTE labs. We are waiting on guidance from North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) for other program areas that do not offer the same opportunity due to third party test sites or evaluators.
