To All Rising Seniors:
We are excited to share an incredible opportunity for you to become a student member of the Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Board of Education! As a student board member, you’ll have the unique chance to represent your peers and play an active role in shaping the policies and decisions that impact your education.

To Be Eligible, You Must:
- Be a current junior and rising senior for the 2025-2026 school year.
- Be a regularly attending student at ECP Early College, Northeastern High School, or Pasquotank County High School.
- Have been enrolled at your current high school since the first day of the 2024-2025 school year.
- Have an unweighted grade point average of 2.5 at the time of the selection process and maintain a cumulative unweighted grade point average of 2.5 during their tenure of the position.
- Exhibit positive behavior in school and be in good standing with conduct and behavior.
- Not be related to a current elected board member.
Application Process:
1. Complete the online application form available here and on your school's website:
2. Submit a student essay or letter explaining why you are interested in serving as a student board member.
3. Provide three (3) letters of recommendation, which can be:
- Up to three (3) letters from school staff or administrators.
- Or one letter from an acquaintance (not an immediate family member) and the rest from school staff or administrators.
Finalists will be invited to deliver a presentation at a public Board meeting, followed by individual interviews held in closed session. The Board will then vote in open session to select the student representatives.
