Board of Education Meeting Notice - February 2022

The Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Board of Education will hold committee meetings on Monday, February 21, 2022, beginning at 4:30 p.m. with a closed session.  The board will resume the open session at 5:00 p.m. or immediately following the closed session, whichever is later.  The regular meeting of the board will take place on Monday, February 28, 2022, at 6:00 p.m.  Both meetings will be held in the multi-purpose room at Pasquotank Elementary School, 1407 Peartree Road.  Parking will be available in the rear parking lot of the school.

The board will hold an additional closed session on February 21, 2022, immediately following committee meetings as allowed by N.C.G.S. 143-318.11(a)(6) in order to discuss and consider one or more personnel matters that are confidential by law, including applications and other matters related to candidates applying for the superintendent search.  The deadline to submit applications for the position of superintendent ended on January 31, 2022.  The board received 30 applications from 11 different states and territories.  The applications will be processed by the North Carolina School Boards Association (NCSBA) and released to the board for consideration.  The board looks forward to reviewing the applications and moving into the interview stage of the superintendent search process in March.
