ECPPS Names Jennifer Lee District Principal of the Year

ECPPS Names Jennifer Lee District Principal of the Year

Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools has named Jennifer Lee, principal of Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Early College, its District Principal of the Year.

Lee has led the Early College since 2023. In the recently released 2025–26 school achievement results, the school increased its School Performance Grade from 73 to 100, moving from a B to an A. It became the first school in ECPPS history to reach 100% proficiency on all state exams and exceeded its expected growth. With a School Performance Grade of 100 and 100% student achievement, the Early College outscored every other public school in North Carolina.

“Mrs. Lee is deeply committed to supporting her teachers and making sure every student has what they need to succeed,” said ECPPS Superintendent Dr. Keith Parker. “She listens, responds, and works alongside her staff to create opportunities for students. This recognition reflects the care and leadership she brings to the Early College every day.”

Lee has served ECPPS since 2000. Before becoming principal of the Early College, she served as director of the district’s Pre-K program beginning in 2020. She has also served as an assistant principal and a high school history teacher.
