Explore Spanish DLI at ECPPS

ECPPS Families,

We are excited to share updates about our Spanish Dual Language Immersion Program. Dual Language Immersion is a research-proven approach that immerses students in a second language at a young age. Through engaging instruction and meaningful experiences, students develop strong language skills and grow as emerging bilingual learners.

The 2025-2026 school year continues to show strong progress in our kindergarten and first grade DLI classrooms. Students are thriving academically, growing their vocabulary and communication skills, and demonstrating the many cognitive benefits connected to bilingual learning.

Across North Carolina, more than 60 school districts offer dual language programs, and ECPPS continues to expand these opportunities for students and families through the growth of DLI.

Families are invited to attend one of our Dual Language Immersion Interest Meetings to learn more about the program. Each session will include an overview of DLI, what families can expect, and the many advantages of learning in two languages such as stronger problem-solving skills, improved focus, and enhanced academic performance.
