Holiday Message from Superintendent Parker
Dear ECPPS Families,
As we approach this special time of year, I want to take a moment to wish you all a joyful holiday season. It has truly been a remarkable year, and it is because of the dedication, support, and commitment of each and every one of you — our students, families, educators, and staff — we continue to shine as a school community.
The holiday season is a time for joy, togetherness, and gratitude. It’s also an opportunity to pause and celebrate the friendships and connections that make our community a wonderful place to live. Whether it’s in our classrooms, on our playing fields, or at the many events that bring us together, I am constantly reminded of the great care and support you give to public education in Elizabeth City.
I am grateful for our families and community partners who continue to walk beside us every step of the way. To our educators and staff, your unwavering dedication to our students’ success is truly inspiring. And to our students, you continue to amaze us with your curiosity, determination, and creativity — you are the heartbeat of everything we do.
As we look ahead to 2025, I am excited about the opportunities and possibilities that await us. Together, we will continue to build on our successes, face new challenges with determination and resolve, and work to ensure every student in ECPPS is equipped with the skills they need to live out their hopes and dreams.
During this holiday season, I encourage each of you to take time to relax, recharge, and cherish special moments with family and loved ones. Let us all find ways to extend kindness and generosity, especially to those who need it the most during this holiday season.
I can’t help but think of a line from a very familiar Christmas tune, “Have yourself a merry little Christmas. Let your heart be light. From now on, your troubles will be out of sight. And have yourself a merry little Christmas now.”
On behalf of the Board of Education and the entire leadership team, I wish you a joyful holiday season and a new year filled with hope, happiness, and much success.
Warm regards,
Keith
