“Our Community School” Documentary Now Available to Watch

Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools is proud to share the official release of Our Community School, a documentary produced by our partners at EdNC, now available to watch online.

During the 2024-2025 school year, EdNC embedded at P.W. Moore Elementary, capturing powerful and authentic moments with students, staff, families, and community partners. The 30-minute documentary tells the story of how P.W. Moore embraced the community school model, experienced unprecedented growth, achieved a C school designation, and exceeded expected growth outcomes.

Named after transformative education leader P.W. Moore, who was born into slavery in the 1850s and later became the first president of Elizabeth City State University, P.W. Moore Elementary has long served as an anchor for its community. The documentary highlights the guiding belief that every child deserves a quality education, regardless of circumstance, and demonstrates how strong partnerships, resources, and collective dedication can help students learn and thrive.
