Good News

 

Four Pasquotank Elementary school teachers won the Martha Ann Ward Swain Impact Grant for the 2020-2021 school year.  Ms. Destinee Barrera & Ms. Joleesa Felton won the award for "Roadrunner Reset" to create a school-wide cool down center.  Ms. Ashley Begeot won the award for "Get Fit, Don't Sit" which will allow for pedometers and heart monitors to be incorporated in health and P.E. classes.  And Mrs. Spence won the award for G.R.O.W. with the roadrunners - vegetable confetti.  A program to help grow microgreens in her classroom to get students excited about eating healthier foods.   

First Grade Backpacks are Here! 

Another Pasquotank Elementary School teacher, Ms. Jessica Hathaway, fundraised enough backpack's full of supplies for the whole first grade thanks to Mrs. Carol Beauchemin.

Congratulations to Ms. Felton!!!! She is the Beginning Teacher of the Year for PES. 

Bright Ideas Education Grant Winners

Ms. Walker and Ms. Abbott, second grade teachers, are recipients of the Bright Ideas Education Grant. The grant will be used to provide math manipulatives. Students “learn by doing,” and math is very practical. As such, the manipulatives will enhance student understanding of the concepts taught.
