Career & Technical Education

Keyboarding (6th grade):

This course is composed of instructional modules designed to provide hands-on instruction in basic keyboarding skills, and computer concepts. Students will learn to touch type on the computer keyboard using correct techniques as well as the development of speed and accuracy. Students will be introduced to the formatting of personal and business letters, tables, notes, memos, and reports.


Introduction to Office Productivity (7th grade):

This course is composed of instructional modules designed to provide hands-on instruction in computer concepts and software applications. The software applications include word processing (Microsoft Word), presentation software (Microsoft PowerPoint), and spreadsheets (Basic Microsoft Excel).


Exploring Career Decisions Part A (8th Grade):

This course provides an orientation to the world of work. Emphasis is placed on self-awareness (Who Am I?), understanding the world of work, and the career planning process. Skills learned in this course include, but are not limited to, communication, personal management, and teamwork. English language arts are reinforced.
